The study was conducted with 98 participants including 16 older women and men. All 98 of these participants had a migraine. The research team found that migraine patients had a lower risk of developing migraine when they only drank one or two caffeinated drinks a day, but increased the risk of caffeine consumption and increased exposure to migraine.

It was observed that individuals consuming more caffeine during the study reduced caffeine consumption after they had more migraine. Individuals without any headache continued their caffeine consumption as they were. This shows that people are taking caffeine consumption under control to avoid sudden and drastic changes in both directions.
