Niantic, the developer of Pokemon GO, has collected a total of 145 tons of garbage for 2019 Earth Day.
Niantic, the developer of Pokemon GO, announced that the worldwide teams for the second global cleansing organization collected about 145 tonnes of garbage. The cleaning process lasted for 41,000 hours and included 17,000 players. The company had 46 NGP partners to clean 41 countries on 6 continents.
Niantic announced his plans for World Day 2019 at the end of March when he invited his players to the rubbish disposal organization. The company has partnered with the ı Playmob to the plum team as well as more than a dozen non-governmental organizations to host cleaning organizations around the world.
Pokemon GO and Ingress players received global awards for participating in this organization. The company identified 7,000 players as the upper threshold, but according to the most recent report, more than twice as many of them were involved in cleaning organizations.
