According to information from Japan, Apple will indeed have a square asymmetric camera module as shared by Onleax.
Aside from Google, we can see that almost all popular flagships sold today have a triple camera setup. This situation led to rumors that Apple would prefer the triple camera on iPhone 11. For the first time, Onleaks revealed concept images of what the iPhone 11 would look like with a triple camera for the first time in January.
The images shared by Onleaks showed that Apple would use a camera module like the Huawei Mate 20 Pro. However, the cameras were positioned diagonally, not symmetrical, as in Mate 20. The fact that the design has a very disturbing visuality has caused the idea that Apple would prefer such an asymmetry. However, a new report appeared that Apple would use a square camera module.
According to the Japanese technology blog Macotakara, Apple is really considering using a square camera module. However, there is no evidence that the cameras will be asymmetrically aligned as OnLeaks shows. The triple camera will be available in a 5.8-inch display and a 6.5-inch display. But the 64-GB versions, which are entry-level products, will continue to come with a dual rear camera like the iPhone Xs.
Sources of Macotakara, suppliers of Apple products in Asia. For this reason, there is no information about the position of the camera even though the camera module is square. To be honest, Apple’s dual-camera module had a sleek design that shaped the industry. However, the camera module shared by OnLeaks is ’ugly’ asymmetric.
