The artificial intelligence development that has recently begun to be applied to all products, has been quite helpful for MediaTek. The company is earning income on this.
Taiwan-based chip maker MediaTek is expected to announce revenues on Tuesday for the second quarter of the year. The revenues that will cover the figures from April to June have been reported to be $ 60.48 billion of the company’s own $ 55.6-59.6 billion. In particular, the mobile chip, which supports artificial intelligence, boosted its profitability by 20% in the second quarter compared to the first quarter.
According to MediaTek, smartphone manufacturers such as Oppo, Vivo and Xiaomi have recently made a major contribution to artificial intelligence-assisted chipsets, but in the second half of this year growth of between 5% and 10%, which is less than before, is expected. One of the most important factors affecting the company’s growth targets is the trade war between the US and China. Because the sales of chipsets for the fourth quarter are now slower than in previous periods. According to experts, this is due to the negative effects of the war between the two countries on the market.
With the exception of smartphones, chip sales of smart speakers, TVs and other intelligent objects tend to leap in the three-month period from July to September. The reason for this is that the producers regard the last quarter of the year as a sort of shopping season, and sales during that period increased more than the other months.
